Oclaf: One of my favorite Italian finds!

I came across the Oclaf bracelets while in Positano, and again at a small jewelry shop in Sorrento.  Postiano is a small town on the Amalfi Coast.  The main part of the city sits on an enclave leading to the coast, giving it beautiful views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.  On the other hand, Sorrento is a small southern Italian town on the bay of Naples the oversees Mt. Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri (Capri Watches).  Amalfi Drive, winding, narrow road, atop high cliffs connects these two areas.  I recommend you buckle up..but back to the bracelets!

The Oclaf brand, based out of Barcelona, features first quality, unique leather jewelry with the stamped zamak toggle clasp.  They come in a variety of colors, prints, and widths, including a super cute reptile one I picked up on my last stop in Sorrento.  I have found they look amazing paired together, and with other feminine jewelry to offset the masculinity of the leather.  Hopefully they will make it to the US soon!! Prices started at $25 and up..

Tone of the Month- MPJ

My Private Jet, from the 2007 Night Brights OPI collection, is an amazing toned down black with a cosmic, iridescence that is to die for! I am currently wearing it on my fingers and toes.  It is hard to locate since it is not a current OPI collection, but it is totally worth tracking down (amazon.com)...

Absolute bliss..

Baby, I'm back!

Wow! Has it been over a year since I've blogged?! Where has Fashion Friend been?? Lets see, I experienced New Orleans for the first time, worked my first holiday in retail, went to the Bahamas, spent a few days in NYC, and traveled to Italy for the first time! 2010 has been an amazing year so far, and there is so much to write about! It feels so good to be back!

Kill For...

Watching Dexter last night got me thinking...what would I kill for? hmmm..a lot, but only what I can't get my hands on, or can I? I can think of something every day of the week that I would kill for. I'll start small for now, once a week. Trying to keep a low profile, ya know? Wouldn't want to get caught..
This week I am killing for...
Marc Jacobs silk sequin ruffle skirt

I would die for this 80s inspired frock! Look at the attention to detail! Black silk, ruffles, and multicolored sequins! Say no more..this skirt is a show stopper!

Peace, Love, & Happiness

Peace signs are back in style, hallelujah!! I wouldn't exactly call it a trend since the peace sign envelops a belief that originated during the Vietnam War in the 60s, but hey it's fun and reminds me of the 90s (last time I sported the peace sign) and hippies! Yay! Keep the peace to a minimum though..here's a peace of what I am loving!

Mission Military

A-ten-hut! Military is a huge trend this fall..you name it..Pucci, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfield..they're all doing it! Something about the mixture of masculinity, brass buttons, and combat really gets me going! Although I would love to own designer regalia, I think I'll opt for a lower price point to pacify the bank account! Roger that?!

Seeing Dots

As I was reading my InStyle magazine this morning I ran across this picture of Chloe Sevigny in Isaac Mizrahi at the Emmys..

I absolutely loves the simplistic beauty of this one-shouldered gown, but I am indifferent of the current polka dot trend. Also, I can't decide if the AW09 trend is a rendition of the 50s housewife or a childish, whimsical trend..Maybe a little bit of both, hmm..I am second guessing my gut instinct due to these fun, flirty looks of AW09.
